The beach in Tahiti: a heavenly setting

It’s hard to resist Tahiti Beach, so named for its lagoon-blue waters and dazzling white sand. This little corner of paradise is a lovely place to swim, even for the youngest children. The view is worthy of the most beautiful Breton postcards, and seems almost exotic on a sunny day.

Tucked away behind the dunes and accessible via a path lined with pine trees, Tahiti Beach is the perfect spot for both relaxing on the sand and enjoying water-based activities. An ideal starting point for a walk to Pointe de Trévignon, it attracts many holidaymakers who come to enjoy the tranquillity of Névez.

Rospico Beach: a charming cove

Tucked away between two rocky headlands, Rospico beach offers an intimate and enchanting atmosphere. As it is quite small, it’s a place where only those in the know gather, far from the crowds, often surrounded by lush vegetation that stretches right down to the pebbles. It is also a popular spot for its ever-changing colours in the light of late summer evenings.

Here, you can enjoy a range of activities typical of family-friendly beaches, such as crab fishing at low tide. Children love building huts and castles in the golden sand, whilst their parents relax to the sound of the waves. This unspoilt gem is a firm favourite amongst beach lovers in Névez.

Port-Manec’h beach: authenticity and a family-friendly atmosphere

At the mouth of the Aven, Port-Manec’h beach combines picturesque scenery with a lively atmosphere. Its old harbour, dotted with small, colourful huts, is a reminder of the days when artists would set up their easels there to capture the local beauty. 

Renowned for its accessibility and safety, this beach stands out as one of the most welcoming spots for those wishing to try their hand at classic seaside activities. Kayak and windsurfing hire, or a stroll along the sea wall, are just some of the many options on offer at Port-Manec’h. The view of Saint-Nicolas perfectly rounds off this charming scene.

Dourveil Beach: peace and quiet guaranteed

A little further afield, Dourveil Beach is ideal for those seeking, above all, peace and quiet and unspoilt nature. Situated to the west of Névez, this stretch of white sand borders crystal-clear waters, which are particularly lovely when the sun is shining. By timing your visit to coincide with the tides, you can discover some exceptional rocky nooks to explore.

With few visitors outside the peak season, Dourveil offers a peaceful retreat for families and sports enthusiasts keen to go for a swim or play beach volleyball away from the crowds. Adding Dourveil beach to your list is therefore a must for a peaceful break in southern Finistère.

Porz Kercanic and the colours of Brittany

A detour to Porz Kercanic beach leaves a lasting impression thanks to its mineral and maritime hues, which change depending on the time of day and the weather. Although less well-known, this beach is nevertheless one of the locals’ favourite spots for a spontaneous getaway or an impromptu picnic overlooking the ocean.

Its landscape alternates between sandy stretches and pebble banks, which is a real treat for walkers who appreciate the beauty of natural details. The paths leading to this cove wind through quintessentially Breton countryside, dotted with old traditional thatched-roof houses. This idyllic setting adds to the magic of the beaches at Névez.
