How do I get to Saint-Nicolas Island ?
The only way to reach Saint-Nicolas Island is by boat. Shuttle services are available from the port of Concarneau and other nearby docks. Several companies offer regular crossings, especially during the high season.
Even during the crossing, you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view: crystal-clear waters and pristine beaches. Be sure to book your tickets in advance, though, as seats sell out quickly on sunny days. Once you arrive, you’ll feel completely transported.
Discover the exceptional flora and fauna
Saint-Nicolas Island is part of a remarkable nature reserve, perfect for nature lovers eager to explore the local flora and fauna. Among the highlights is the famous Glénan daffodil, an endemic plant with white flowers that is found nowhere else in the world. In the spring, its carpets of flowers literally light up the island.
Nature lovers can also admire a variety of seabirds, crustaceans, and colorful fish in the crystal-clear waters. It’s not uncommon to spot dolphins offshore.
Please note that, as the island is designated a nature reserve, certain areas are protected and picking plants is strictly prohibited.
